The Tennessee Bar Exam assesses whether or not a candidate is competent to practice law in Tennessee.
For its bar exam, Tennessee requires completion of two parts.
The first portion of the Tennessee Bar Exam is the Multistate Bar Examination, or the MBE. The MBE is administered twice annually; once on the last Wednesday in February and again on the last Wednesday in July.
The second portion of the Tennessee Bar Exam tests candidates on unique aspects of Tennessee's laws. The state specific portion of the Tennessee bar examination is administered in essay format.
