The Utah Bar Exam assesses whether or not a candidate is competent to practice law in Utah.
For its bar exam, Utah requires completion of two parts.
The first portion of the Utah Bar Exam is the Multistate Bar Examination, or the MBE. The MBE is administered twice annually; once on the last Wednesday in February and again on the last Wednesday in July.
The second portion of the Utah Bar Exam tests candidates on unique aspects of Utah's laws. The state specific portion of the Utah bar examination is administered in essay format.
